Structures—and rock structures in particular—are one of my favourite subjects and I come back to them very regularly.

I am fascinated again and again by the amount of detail that can be found in both nature and man-made materials. Being too small to be noticed when we rush by during our daily activities, these details only reveal their fascination to the observer at a very close look.

Often, both colour and structure of a given surface look very different when looked at them very closely, This close look on things is easy once a camera with an suitable lens has been arranged and the surface is in focus. Noticing these details in the first place and finding the ‘right place’ to be captured can often be a little more challenging.
